EDGAR DAVID KLASSEN Edgar Klassen, age 80, died gently as he lived, Friday, July 6, 2018 at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, after a bicycling accident. He was surrounded by family who quietly sang him into the next life with kindergarten nature songs (his granddaughter's last offering to her grandpa) and favourite church hymns. He will be profoundly missed by his wife and dearest friend, Olga (Dyck) Klassen; his children, Lori (Alan Dick) and Keith (Carrie); grandchild Eleanor; brothers, Melvin (Margaret), Garry (Grace) and Ted; sister Connie Kippen; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by parents, Anne (Dyck) and David Klassen; sister Gladys; sister-in-law Vi, and brother-in-law Rick Kippen. Edgar was a hard-working, sensitive, honest, kind, and honourable man. He attended to small things with great care. A devout Mennonite, he was a man of faith, who lived his faith. He liked reading mysteries, woodworking, and taking bike rides with his wife. He had the best laugh. He could fix pretty much anything. His aims for his life were to be of service to others and to be kind, and he was. A memorial at Bethel Mennonite Church in Winnipeg took place on Monday, July 9. The family would welcome donations made in his honour to Mennonite Central Committee or to St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, where Edgar received exceptional care and to whom the family is so grateful.
