GEORGE SEYS 1946 - 2018 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George Gaston Seys on July 6, 2018 at the age of 71. He was predeceased by his mother Godelieve, and his father Adolphe (Jerry). Leaving to mourn his passing are his brother Bob (Deb), his beloved niece Devon, and nephew Joel (Olga). George made many friends over the years, first working at Swifts until it closed and then became well known in the fishing community with over 25 years working at the Fishin' Hole. George had a sheepish, boisterous laugh when he found something comical and he had a heart as big as he was tall. He was always willing to help a family member or a dear friend in need. George enjoyed travelling and made many visits to his favourite places in Mexico and Cuba. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

  • Blake is spot on. However, I spent years having pure fun. I have spent time in conversations with him since leaving Canada. I think it hurt him a lot. I found out of his passing and it breaks my heart. A lot of people misunderstood him. He built a wall for himself that made him the wonderful person he was and would like to think he still is. There truly are no words to describe George. He is who he is. The true George had a heart of gold. He was one of the most intelligent and verse people I know. It just took time to break the wall down. Once it was broken down... he was a sweet, loving person. After leaving Ca. I missed him dearly and I hope he finds the peace he deserves. Always my dear friend. I wish more than you could really know you. - Posted by: Marsh (Best Friend) on: Feb 01, 2020

  • George was a great person. I had the pleasure to work with him for a few years. He had such a fun personality and he always had great stories to tell. He was so good to customers that came in and was very good with the difficult ones to. It was the comments he made quietly to you after that we’re so funny. Oh and his truck. For years he drove this old beaten up truck that backfired just about every time he started it. He was a carefree guy who loved life and the people around him. He will be missed that’s forsure! - Posted by: Blake Wallace (Friends ) on: Jul 24, 2018

  • I got to know George while working together at The Marion Hotel. I was lucky enough to become his friend, and I rented the upstairs of his house from him for a year and a half. George was always there for me when I needed him, as he was for any of his friends. I will miss him dearly. - Posted by: Cara Daymond (Friend) on: Jul 23, 2018
