He will be greatly missed by the love of his life, wife Mary, as well as his daughters, Thora (Terry, Mykhaylo, Petro), Nancy (Dennis, Jake, Liza, Pat), Conni (Brent, Ari, Mary, Joe) and foster daughter Marlene (Jim, Heather). I attended a class of "Classic Movies" at the U of W a decade ago. It was my good fortune to sit next to Al and Mary. This went on for the next couple of years. How I enjoyed their company and being amazed at all their adventures and their exuberance and interest in so many things. Life is a "banquet" and Mary and Al feasted.. Thank you for the many laughs and the memories. RIP Al. My sincere condolences to Mary and family... - Posted by: Joy French (Friend) on: Jul 28, 2018

Al was my little league football coach. A wonderful man. He revealed his excellent teaching skills long before he became a teacher. He was kind, thoughtful and supportive with an excellent knowledge of the game. Allan was by far the best coach I ever had. My sincere condolences to Mary and the family. - Posted by: Doug Muir (Former player) on: Jul 26, 2018

On behalf of the Best and Wadley families, I wish to express our sincere condolences to Mary and the family at this sad time. My mother, Amy (Best) Wadley, was a lifelong friend of Al. As an indication of the respect and admiration she and my father had for him, I was named after Allan and he was chosen to be my godfather. I have many cherished memories of having fun together doing things such as camping, canoeing and attending Blue Bombers games. He was a major influence in my life and his integrity, kindness, humour, generosity and sense of adventure will be very much missed by all who knew him. - Posted by: Allan Wadley (Godson) on: Jul 21, 2018

Al was such a wonderful, one-of-a-kind guy! He always had such great stories to share over coffee about the adventures he had had with his family over the years. Generous with his time, caring, and always with a quick wit and a sharp sense of humour. Mary and Conni, you are in my thoughts today, and my deepest sympathy to all of his family. I hope there is a good cup of coffee waiting for him when he arrives at his next destination. - Posted by: Pearl Holt (Friend) on: Jul 20, 2018
