JANICE IWANKOW (nee HOWIE) With heavy hearts we sadly announce, that after a brave battle with cancer, we said goodbye to our beloved mother on July 23, 2018. Janice was predeceased by her husband Terry Iwankow, parents, Donald and Anne Howie. Janice leaves to cherish her memory, her sons, Chris (Cynthia) and Trevor (Keriann), her siblings, Bruce (Ev) Howie, Brian (Nancy) Howie, Roy (Heather) Howie, Ruth Werhun and Craig (Wendy) Howie, her two sisters-in-law, Starr (Tom) England and Carol (David) Wimert and her adored grandchildren, Aryanna, Zaiden, Marley and Kiarra and numerous nieces and nephews. Janice was born on August 8, 1946. She worked at Con-Force Structures Ltd. during her years of employment. Janice was an avid curler, gardener, baker extraordinaire, and dear friend to all that knew her. She spent many years enjoying cottage life at Falcon Lake, and once retired, she spent a number of years with her husband as a snowbird in Texas. After the passing of her beloved husband, Janice spent the past seven years in Steinbach. She was a huge fan of the Blue Bombers and never missed a game. Janice was a star athlete in her youth and continued with her love of sports into retirement. She enjoyed playing pickle ball and floor shuffling when she wasn't donating her time as a volunteer at Pat Porter Community Centre and the Steinbach soup kitchen. Always thinking of others and giving back to her community! We appreciate everyone's love and support and the many visits to let Mom know how special she truly was. Many thanks to our aunts, uncles and Mom's friends and neighbours who meant so much to her. Special thanks to the staff at Bethesda Hospital. Cremation has taken place, no funeral service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Canadian Cancer Society. We will miss you dearly Mom and we're forever grateful for all the time and love we had with you.
