Aunt Ramona was a gentle, warm person who welcomed everyone in my family with open arms whenever we met. I always thought she was the perfect companion for Uncle Marce. When I think of the two of them, an image from my teen years pops up of them strolling arm in arm down a gravel path. They looked so happy together. Probably one of my fondest memories comes from the time we visited them when they lived in Stonewall. Ramona entertained us by playing the piano. I don't think it was something she planned ahead. It was a spontaneous moment, as if it was the most natural thing in the world to play for guests. Ramona was a talented musician and very much the perfect hostess. - Posted by: Larry Verstraete (Nephew ) on: Aug 02, 2018

I was always grateful that my mom, Daisy, had such a good friend in Ramona. I know they had many, many laughs together. They were a great support to each other in good times and bad. A few years back I was able to spend some time with her in Victoria when my mom and sisters went for vacation. Ramona and Daisy had a lovely last visit together. - Posted by: Cindy Mandryk (Daisy La Haie's daughter) on: Aug 01, 2018

I can vouch for her love of corny jokes. Inside joke; "Do it NOW!" - Posted by: Jim Hein (son-in-law) on: Jul 28, 2018
