Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLORI GALLANT May 16, 1959 - July 25, 2018 After a difficult and aggressive battle with cancer, with her family by her side, Lori Joyce Gallant passed away peacefully on July 25, 2018. Lori was born May 16, 1959 in Selkirk, MB. She is predeceased by her father Clarence Parks, in 1961; her father-in-law Maurice Gallant, in 2013; and her nephew Devon Sinclair, in 2009. Also passing before her were grandparents, Frank and Irene Long, Howard and Madeline Parks, Tom and Vera Sinclair, Walter and Hazel Gemmill, and Ernie and Edna Gallant. Left to honour Lori and remember her are her loving husband George; her three beautiful children, Ryan (Jolynne), Denise (Bill and Jordann) and Marcus (Leah); along with six wonderful grandchildren, William, Emily, Grace, Isabella, Holden and Claire. She will be greatly missed by her parents, Ken and Joan Sinclair, and Darlene Gallant; her siblings, Bill (Karen), Valerie (Charlie), Heather (Mick), Scott (Janie), Trevor (Jenn), Patti (Don) and Michelle (Doug); and many more nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Known for an unforgettable laugh, big blue eyes and an even bigger heart, Lori left an impact on her community, coworkers, family and friends, and anyone who had the chance to meet her. Lori attended elementary and junior high school in St. Andrews, followed by high school in Selkirk. She joined Sea Cadets at the age of 13, where she met the love of her life, George. They married in 1978 and spent most of their lives in and around the Selkirk area. Lori worked at the Selkirk CIBC bank, and managed Warehouse One for many years, where she formed many lasting friendships with coworkers and customers. At the time of her diagnosis, Lori was the much-valued Office Manager for Maple Leaf Drilling. Though no longer with us, Lori endured the effects of her disease with bravery, grace and dignity. She never lost her sense of humour and even managed to throw in a touch of sass. Our many thanks to the staff at CancerCare Manitoba and Riverview Health Centre (Palliative Care ward, 3 East) for their continued support, empathy, compassion and care during these emotional and difficult months. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk.
