JIM (PETER JAMES) LAMONT October 6, 1949 - July 25, 2018 It is with heavy hearts that the family announces our dear husband, father and friend passed away peacefully on July 25, 2018 at Tri-Lake Health Centre. Jim was born in Brandon, MB on October 6, 1949. Jim will be missed by his loving wife Susan; son Paul (Taryn) and daughter Sherri (Mark) Lund and grandson Abram, brother Tom (Bette), nephews and nieces, and friends. He is predeceased by his parents, Donna and Hugh Lamont. He was raised in the Minto/Margaret area then moved to Killarney for the remainder of his school years. In his teenage years he worked with Jack Clements and then he took his heavy duty mechanics and started his career at White Trucks (Freightliner). It was in Winnipeg where he met the love of his life Susan Woodley. In 1975 they got married and in 1976 they moved to Killarney where Jim farmed, and worked many positions at John Deere over the course of his life. In retirement, he would work various jobs, and officially retired from Paterson Crop Inputs in 2010. Retirement was filled with many things, as he never liked to sit still. Anything from helping with renovations at the kids' homes to playing in the yard, and in the winter months heading down to their second home at Carriage Manor, in Mesa, AZ. It is there where they loved to spend the winters, playing pickleball, tennis and golfing. The love and the friendships they gained over the years are cherished. Jim loved playing host in his own home, curling and playing a round of golf at the various courses in Southwest Manitoba with dear friends. Jim was a gentle soul, he had a passion for life and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. A celebration of Jim's life will be held Monday, July 30 at 2:00 p.m. at the Killarney United Church. Flowers gratefully declined, donations can be made to the Tri-Lake Health Auxillary, Box 852, Killarney, MB R0K 1G0 or a charity of your choice. The family would like to extend a heartful thank you to all of the healthcare professionals, staff, family and friends that have been by our side. Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Auntie Susan, It has been years since I saw you and even more years that I was at the family home. My memories of time spent with the family where always pleasant and miss hanging out in the trailer playing games with Paul and Sherry. Due to my addictions and other things as well as mobility issues I did not want to plague your family with my problems... I hope your family is doing well as well as the tea business. once again Uncle Jim rest in peace, you were a hard worker and you're missed more than most. love Jason xoxo - Posted by: Jason Cormier (nephew) on: Jun 27, 2025
