Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDILYS CATHERINE WILSON (nee JENKINS) On Wednesday, July 18, 2018, Dilys (Jenkins) Wilson passed away at Extendicare Tuxedo Villa, at the age of 88 years. Left to cherish Dilys' memory is her son Guy Wilson of Penticton, BC; daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Keith Kauk of Winnipeg; also, many nieces and nephews. A special mention to her nephew David Trousdale of Stoney Creek, ON who came for many visits during the years. She was predeceased by her father (1955) and mother (1975); her husband Eric Wilson (2002); her sisters, Hazel Watkins, Gwyneth Jones and Iris Trousdale. Dilys was born August 6, 1929 in Rainy River, ON, the youngest of four daughters of Edward Hugh and Gwladys Bertha Jenkins. She graduated from Gordon Bell High School in Winnipeg. Dilys enjoyed singing in the choir at Holy Trinity Church and she worked as a Legal Secretary at Aikens and McCauley. Dilys met her husband Eric while on vacation in Vancouver which started a seven-year cross country courtship. They married and settled in Calgary where they adopted their two children. From there, her husband's job took them to various cities within Canada and the US before settling in Winnipeg. Dilys went back to the workforce as Executive Assistant at The Catholic Women's League. We were very proud of her. During the years, Dilys enjoyed many family vacations in Osoyoos, BC, Warm Lake, Idaho, Falcon Lake and many shopping trips south of the border. After retirement Dilys and Eric enjoyed trips to Victoria and family reunions with the Dunbars and Clothiers in Vancouver. She enjoyed many visits with her sister Iris and her family as well. The family would like to thank the Grace Hospital, Rosewood Supportive Care and Extendicare Tuxedo Villa for their excellent care of Mom. A celebration of Dilys' life will be held on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at The Gates on Roblin, 6945 Roblin Blvd., Headingley, MB. A private interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Manitoba Lung Association or the Winnipeg Humane Society. My deepest condolences Barb, Keith and Guy. I have very fond memories of your mom - late night card games and bacon dippers! She was an amazing hostess and a fantastic cook and she loved you all so much. - Posted by: Kim (Harder) Houska (Friend) on: Aug 07, 2018
