NANCY SHEWCHUK (REZNIK)

NANCY SHEWCHUK (nee REZNIK) 1936 - 2018 Nancy passed peacefully on July 16, 2018 in Halifax, NS. Nancy was born and raised in Barrymore, Alberta, where she met and married her husband Phil who predeceased her in 2007. Nancy was a longtime resident of Winnipeg whose door was always open to friends and neighbours and anyone else who needed a sympathetic ear or simply a good meal. She worked for Standard Aero as a buyer for many years prior to relocating with Phil to Nova Scotia so they could enjoy their grandson Alex as he grew up. Nancy was known for her impressive sewing and baking skills. She also never met a flower or vegetable that she could not convince to bloom and produce abundantly. She enjoyed feeding her birds and waited every year eagerly for the hummingbirds to return. She is survived by her daughter Sandra (Arthur) Spriggs of Halifax, NS, grandson Alex (Justine) Spriggs of Houston, TX, sisters, Nina (Roger) Dell of Marathon, ON, and Lydia Hohol of Spruce Grove, AB, along with many nieces and nephews coast to coast. The family would like to thank the staff at Hants Community Hospital for their caring and support, and also the DeMonte Family Funeral Home of Windsor, NS. Cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Nova Scotia SPCA.
