MARTHA (MARGE) MAZURKEWICH (nee GRUTEL) December 23, 1931 - July 30, 2018 With her family by her side, surrounded by love, our mom, baba, auntie and friend was called by the angels to the Lord. She will be reunited with her husband of 41 years, Martin (1994), and son Garry (2013). She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Shirl (Dave) Walton and Gaylene (Leigh) Mazurkewich; daughter-in-law Barbara Funk; grandsons, Stephen (Jess), Michael, Taras; new great-grandson Hunter; sister Jean of Shellmouth, MB; her "adopted daughter" as she liked to call them, Judy (niece), Donna (niece) and Maxine (Shirl's friend); along with numerous nieces and nephews. Marge was a hard working woman, always making sure to help her husband provide for the family with a few extra treats for us. She enjoyed working in the garden. It brought her great joy to have fresh vegetables, especially lettuce, onions and dill. She especially loved strawberry picking season. Right from infants, Baba spent time with her grandsons. She taught them how to make perogies, holubtsi, cookies and homemade soups, which were always so delicious. For the last 40 years she faithfully played the Kinsmen Jackpot Bingo, unfortunately she never ever won. However, she was grateful she made the small donation every week. She lived at Edgewood Estate for the past 20 years and even though she was abit reserved, she managed to make many great friends. Marge enjoyed the weekly Bingo evenings and she was a member of the line dancing troupe that would entertain at senior residences. She was thrilled the building had a gym and walking track for the long winter months. However, in the last few months, she truly missed the bingo players and the gym. The family would like to extend a heartfelt gratitude to all the staff of St. Boniface Hospital, floor E5. You treated our loved one with dignity, respect, some humour and teasing. The care and compassion was sincere. Thank you for the cot and allowing us do our own thing. We thank God everyday that her illness was brief and now she is free from pain and at peace. A memorial service will be held in Arborg, Manitoba. Date is to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Martha's memory to the CancerCare Foundation of Manitoba. "To our loved one, we bestow upon you peace, harmony and melody." www.voyagefuneralhomes.com

Shirley, Gaylene, so sorry to hear of Aunt Martha's passing. She was a wonderful auntie and always had a smile on her face. Growing up Auntie always had treats or money for us to buy ourselves some candy. Memories I will hold dearly. May the memories comfort you in the days ahead. - Posted by: Shelley (Kotyk) Watson (Niece) on: Aug 04, 2018
