MARGARET ALISON BROWN (nee HYNDMAN) Our mother peacefully let go of this life on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at the age of 91 years. She was a progressive woman, university educated, open minded, mother, grand-mother, guider, supporter. She was the 'glue' in our family. Mom was helpful to a fault. She tirelessly assisted her family and others. Anyone who knew Marg was touched by her. Raised on a farm in southern Manitoba by loving parents, Marg learned the need of community and friendship. She played in a band, golfed, curled, and worked at various occupations. She loved to laugh and kept us amused with her many expressions. One of the last things she said was "It's all good". Marg was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Robert Brown, in 2006. Left with great memories and an example of how to live, are her three sons, Denis (April), Michael (Shamim), Alan (Candy). Her biggest love was for her grandchildren: Kristen, Jon, Michael, Kelly and Caitlin; along with great-grandchildren: Asher, Makenna, Leif, Siggi and Magnus. Very close to our mom was her cousin Anita Schmidt and niece Barb Kaleal. Thank you so much to West Park Manor. Marg was loved by the staff and treated with dignity and respect. We cannot say enough to how your care and kindness was appreciated. Thank you, Anita for all your love and visits to our mom. A family gathering, and celebration of Marg's life took place on Sunday, August 5, 2018. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association, https://mbwpg.cmha.ca/ Wojcik's Funeral Chapels & Crematoriums, 2157 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg 204.897.4665 www.wojciksfuneralchapel.com As mom would say, "What next?"

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Thank you, Marg, for being such a positive role model in my life, and for enriching my experiences. It is truly an honour and a privilege to be part of your family. - Posted by: Shamim Brown (Daughter-in-Law) on: Aug 12, 2018

  • I had the privilege of getting to know Marg very well in the mid 70s when I lived with her for a short time during a stressful period in my life. Marg not only had me share her home, but also her life. She took me along when she went curling, shopping, and also when she had lunch with her own peers/friends. I was welcomed warmly into her life and activities and never made to feel like I was intruding. I know her positive outlook helped me get through my own negative situation at the time. I want to share this with the Brown family as I have always had a very soft spot in my heart for Marg and still recall my time with her very fondly and with much gratitude. She was a wonderful person and I am so very grateful that our lives touched. Thank you, Marg, and rest peacefully. You set a very high bar and a great example of how life should be lived. - Posted by: Shen Rajan (Mike Brown's sister-in-law) on: Aug 11, 2018
