EILEEN MAVIS BROOKS November 14, 1938 - August 3, 2018 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eileen at 79 years of age after a lengthy illness. Eileen is survived by her loving children, Suzanne, Darrell (Dawn), Annette (Kirby) and Todd (Rose). She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and her sister Lorraine. Eileen was predeceased by her husband Bert; her parents and three siblings. Eileen and Bert were married on August 18, 1958 in Polonia, Manitoba. Over the years they resided in Polonia, Calgary, Winnipeg and Edmonton, welcoming the births of their children. Eileen started her nursing career in Winnipeg and continued in that profession until the passing of her husband Bert in 1985. She then moved back to Winnipeg to be with her family and friends. Eileen was a very family oriented person who loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. In her free time, she volunteered at senior citizen care homes, and she joined a 5-pin bowling league for a few years. She played bingo and liked going to the casinos occasionally. Eileen donated over one year of her time in assisting with Meals on Wheels. With her health slowly deteriorating, she moved into the Riverside Lions Senior Residences where she made even more friends. She was a very caring lady who tried to help those who needed companionship or assistance. Eileen spent the last five weeks of her life in the Riverview Hospital Palliative Care Facility where she peacefully succumbed to cancer. Eileen's wishes were to be cremated, with no service. She will be put to rest in the Neepawa Cemetery, joining her husband Bert. Eileen's family would like to thank all of the staff of Riverview for taking wonderful care of their mother in her final days. • She was a beautiful person. I worked at riverside with her and she would take interest and encourage me as I started nursing school. I really looked up to her and think of her often. Rest in peace Eileen. - Posted by: Julia (Friend) on: Sep 30, 2018
