BARRY ALEXANDER EVANS April 11, 1951 - August 11, 2018 It's hard to lose someone who gave us so much to remember. In your life you touched so many...when you passed, many lives were changed. Our hearts are broken. Barry is survived by his wife Eleanor, daughters and son-in-law, Deanne (Derek), Melissa and Samantha; grandchildren, Preston, Matthew, Colton and Mackenzie, and step-grandson Evan; his brothers and sister, Brian (Marsha), Lyle (Lorraine), Glen (Debbie), Duane (Heather) and Lori (Ken Geisel); his brothers and sister-in-law, Ken and Claudia Kroeker, Judy and David Lusty and Glen Kroeker. Many nieces and nephews also survive him, his friends are too numerous to mention but know that he loved you all. He was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Gloria Evans, and in-laws, John and Irene Kroeker. Barry was raised in the Garden City area and was a furniture man through and through. He considered Nick and June Hill a second set of parents. Barry and Eleanor were married on September 29, 1973 and were newlyweds to the end. A memorial service to celebrate Barry's life will be on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 11:00 a.m. at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Flowers are gratefully declined. As expressions of sympathy, if friends so desire, donations to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in Barry's memory can be made to 1000-191 Lombard Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3B 0X1. Many thanks to the MICU team at St. Boniface Hospital for the compassionate care given to Barry and the family. Grief never ends. But it changes. It is a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness, not a lack of faith; it is the price of love.
