Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPATRICIA ROSE OLAFSON (nee DANWICH) Patricia Olafson passed away peacefully on August 21, 2018, after a short but courageous battle with brain cancer. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Earl; children, Mark and Maxine; and grandsons, Adam, Leif and Carly. She is also survived by brothers, Ronnie, Gary and Nancy, Barry, Ken and Carol, and Dennis and Laurie; and sisters, Diana and Larry Ateah, Linda, Sharon and Joe Chaput, Wendy Hunter, and Bonnie Hemsworth. Pat was predeceased by mother and father, Nellie and Leon; and brother Terrence. Graveside service will be held Monday, August 27 at 12:00 p.m. at the Victoria Beach Cemetery. Ceremony and lunch to follow at the Victoria Beach Senior Scene, 3 Ateah Rd., at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the East Beaches Senior Scene.

I met Pat at the Senior Scene BINGO last fall. I was asking if any of the ladies at the table knew how to crochet and Pat was quick to say she did. I told her, I could not figure out what I was doing wrong with this blanket I was trying to make. Pat said do this this and this and it should work. She gave me her phone number in case I had any questions before we saw each other at BINGO the next week. With her guidance, I made both of my kids a crocheted blanket for Christmas and it was all thanks to a very patient lady who helped a stranger. So very sad to hear of Pat's passing. I will always remember her as a happy but hard working lady. Take comfort knowing that the pain you feel in your heart today will soon turn to sweet memories of your loved one.
