My deepest condolences to the family whom she will be very missed by. After she was diagnosed with cancer I remember her coming into the salon, she had been battling so bravely for so long. I would always ask her how she was doing and her reply, with a big smile on her face was “ Im still here”. That is how I will always remember her. - Posted by: Viktoria (Hair stylisy of many years.) on: Nov 29, 2018

To Lance and family, I had just finished writing a brief online tribute to your parents and grandparents, Elaine and Eric, when I learned of the passing of your dear wife and mother, too. May we say how very sorry we are, and that we hope none of you will see a year of sorrow like this one again for a very long time, if ever. Laverne sounds like she was a wonderful person. Our thoughts are with you. My heartfelt condolences to Laverne's family. I first met Laverne in Selkirk where we attended elementary school together for a brief period of time. It was a happy coincidence when our paths met again in U. Man Nursing class. I recognized her lovely smile, even though many years had passed. I admired her enthusiasm, tenacity, sense of humour and kindness. Loving thoughts, Janet - Posted by: Janet Hannesson Wong (Friend and classmate) on: Oct 07, 2018

Laverne brought her empathy and thoughtfulness to her career in financial advice. She was a great co-worker and team player. She enjoyed her golf games with friends. We always looked for her friendly wave and smile from an adjoining fairway. She will be missed by many. My deepest condolences to her family. - Posted by: Dianne Szelag (Business Associate) on: Sep 19, 2018

We were very sad to learn of Laverne's passing. Our condolences to you Lance, Megan, Jason, and extended families. Laverne was a wonderful kind person who we feel very fortunate to have known. I remember all of the good times we had over the years of watching our children grow together. It was serendipity that Heather and I got to see Laverne one last time in January. She was at Grant Park Arena watching her grandson Charlie at his skating lesson. It was there we learned that she was terminally ill but that did not diminish her zest for life. She told us that she wanted to spend every possible moment with her children and grandchildren that she could in her time left. She always had a smile that lit up her face and it is that I will remember. I was proud to call her my friend for so many years. - Karen and the rest of the Soiferman family. - Posted by: Karen Soiferman (Friend) on: Sep 09, 2018

I have fond memories of working with Laverne over the years on the maternity ward at St. Boniface Hospital. She always had a smile on her face especially when she talked about her family. The grandchildren stories just lit up her face with smiles. I happened to be working when she visited them in the hospital when they were first born. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren. I'm glad she got to spend some time with them. They had a lovely caring grandmother. I was Laverne's "buddy nurse" when she returned to nursing. At the end of our buddy shifts together, she gave me a special gift and everytime I look at that gift I think of her. I will treasure that gift even more now. WHEN SOMEONE YOU LOVE BECOMES A MEMORY, THAT MEMORY BECOMES A TREASURE. Laverne, may you find comfort and peace with the angels in heaven, just as you were an angel here on earth. - Posted by: Pam Wazney R.N. (Co-worker on 3MCU at St. Boniface Hospital) on: Sep 09, 2018

Hugo and I wish to express our deepest condolences to the family. Laverne was the kindest and most genuine caring individual that we have known. She was a lovely person and her smile was warm and always happy to see you with arms wide open for a hug. Laverne has enriched many lives and offered her help to so many even when battling her disease, she was a special lady. She was a trooper and a very strong woman. We will miss you Laverne by the pool at Desert Breeze and our chit chats and hugs. Hugo and Lydia - Posted by: Lydia and Hugo (Friends) on: Sep 08, 2018
