LARRY KERELUKE May 29, 1947 - September 9, 2018 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Larry Kereluke on September 9, 2018, while attending a Canadian Kennel Club board meeting in Etobicoke, ON. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Lorraine of over 40 years; his beloved daugher Jamie; and his loving son Justin. Also survived by his sister Angeline; and brother Gordon. He will forever be in the hearts of those who loved him. Larry worked for MTS for most of his life. Even though he was able to retire early he always kept busy. He applied to be a member of his condo board and ended up being elected as president. It seemed that, no matter what he did, he was always regarded as a leader. Larry had a love and passion for dogs and was very involved in the dog communities. He was the president of the Northwinds Dog Club for decades. Larry also participated on the CKC Board for over eight years and was the current chair. Prior to that he served on the Discipline Committee for many years. There will be a big void in the dog world without him. As a show dog judge, he was able to travel the world doing the things he loved. Through his travels and everyday life, he ended up with an amazing circle of friends. We should celebrate the amazing life that he lived. In lieu of flowers, please donate to CancerCare Manitoba or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Winnipeg - Airport West, 2520 Portage Ave., Winnipeg.

Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • I will always remember you & Ezra. Your immense presence in the show ring made a huge impression on me that has remained for decades. X - Posted by: Dee (Dog Show Friend) on: Jun 05, 2025

  • With great sadness I discover sadly Mr. Kereluke's passing. Magnificent judge and my priviledge being his ring steward in two ocassions. My deepest condolecenses to his family. - Posted by: Raúl Gutiérrez Constante (Larry's ring steward in Leon, Gto, Mexico) on: Sep 28, 2019

  • Larry welcomed myself and my partner into 130 Creek Bend as cleaners, when he was the president of the board. He was always very kind, respectful and cheerful toward us. It was evident that he cared for his building and was always on top of things that needed attention. I will always have a picture of Larry in my mind holding his little dog in his arms. Simply put, a lovely person. Take care Lorraine and don't hesitate to ask for anything we can do to help. God Bless, Oscar and David - Posted by: Oscar Orjuela Leon (Caretakers) on: Oct 11, 2018

  • Larry made such an impact on us when we were young girls. We were simply nuts about afghan hounds. We got our first one when the three of us young Turner sisters were 16, 14, and 12 years old. We started to go to dog shows, not knowing a darn thing! We also took our afghan to the old Pembina Hwy. Building where we practiced show handling & obedience. There we met Lolly with her samoyeds and Larry had a beautiful blue male Afghan Hound. He took us under his wing and taught us the "ropes". We went to every dog show and helped groom all the afghans, looked after their place out in Birds Hill, and felt like we were part of a huge dog family. Larry & Lolly both did so much for us - always included us. We have always kept in touch and just saw him at the March dog show. He will truly be missed by all that knew him. Lorraine, Justin & Jamie- our hearts go out to you during this time. Sincerely, Jan Lyn and Joan - Posted by: Janice (Turner) Lankester, Evelyn (Turner) Allen and Joan Turner (Good friends of both Larry & Lolly since we were kids ) on: Sep 18, 2018

  • We would like to express our sincere condolences to you and your family. - Posted by: Ernie & Bev Moldowan (nee Hubelit) (Cousin) on: Sep 16, 2018

  • Larry and Lorraine have been our neighbours for the last five years. We always enjoyed our morning and evening chit chats with them. Although Larry didn't know good beer when he saw one we would enjoy sipping on one once in a while. He and I had the same good taste when it came to movies, we both enjoyed action movies with lots of special effects. I knew Larry was an active member of the CKC and that he travelled a great deal to carry out his duties with the club. I knew that Larry was a caring individual because of the way he attended to his sister. He often left early of didn't attend various functions in our condo building because of his dedicated time with her. These are some of the things that I knew about Larry. The sadness I feel is in how much I didn't get to know about him and now there will be no more terrace to terrace chit chats to learn more of his life. Lorraine, you know you are surrounded with friends here and you will never be totally alone. - Posted by: Ken and Susan Koloski (Neighbour ) on: Sep 15, 2018

  • I was The Group Sales person at Assiniboia Downs and met Larry when we had the Northwinds Dog Show at the Downs. I always considered Larry as a friend, not a client. He will be sadly missed by his family and the dog world. It was a privilege to have known him. - Posted by: Lynn Greaves (Friend) on: Sep 15, 2018
