PETER BEFUS Peacefully on Saturday, September 15, 2018, Peter passed away at the amazing age of 102 years young. If he could have spoken for himself he would have told you that "his number came up". He was predeceased by his wife Hilda in 1983 and all eight of his siblings. Survived by his daughter Marge (Ray), son Mel (Shirley), grandchildren, Diana (Larry), Lisa, Andrew (Lynda), Ted (Donna), and great-grandchildren, Kiera (Paul), Brett (Ashley), Katee, Alayna (Jesse), Holly, Javan, Anthony and Allison. Peter met and married Hilda in 1939. He then served for the Canadian Army overseas. Peter was a proud and active member of the Elks Club for many years. He loved spending time with family and friends. Still living on his own at 100, a big celebration was enjoyed on his 100th birthday. He will be remembered for his great singing voice, it was Bing Crosby-like. His secret to a long life... not letting things bother him, and of course his daily banana and orange juice. Peter was a lucky man who was never sick and left this world peacefully with body and mind intact. We were so lucky to have had our dad and grandpa in our lives for so many years. We love and miss you already. Many thanks to the staff at Kildonan Personal Care Home for their love and compassion. Peter's family will celebrate his life with a private gathering.
