SAM CASCISA December 15, 1938 - September 19, 2018 We have lost the heart and soul of our family - our beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away on Wednesday morning, surrounded by his heartbroken family. He was not ready to leave us and fought the good fight but ultimately succumbed to cancer. The kindest most generous man we have ever known; everything for his family above all else. Nothing was more important than time spent with his family, the dinners, pool parties and time spent at our place in St. Malo. Our trip to Italy was fabulous and our Caribbean cruise was amazing, but our many trips to Kelowna to visit our son Tyler's condo with family was a dream to both of us. Sam worked for Wajax as an Operations Manager for most of his career. Sam was proud to coach minor hockey and did so for many years. He coached all of his children and was involved in all of their activities. He coached teams to the Purolator Cup and also coached four players that made the NHL. Sam is survived by his loving wife Lynn, of 51 years; his children: Sammy, Garner, Todd and wife Tamaura, Tiffany and partner Kevin, and Tyler; grandchildren: Hunter Rachel, Carter James, Dominic Samuel, and Charlotte Victoria. Sam is also survived by his brother Tom Cascisa (spouse Lynne), and was predeceased by his sister Lucille Wilkinson (spouse Don). Also left behind to mourn are his dogs, Bella and Sadie. "You will always be our hero." "We had a powerful love that will never die, rest in peace my love." Cremation has taken place and a Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Avenue, with Father Sam officiating on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, with condolences beginning at 10:00 a.m. followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in memory of Sam may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society. • Heart felt condolences to his wife and family! Sam was solid in everything he did; totally committed. I had a business and sports association with him, and Sam was a straightshooter in everything he did. A big loss! - Posted by: Donald Tomac (friend) on: Sep 24, 2018

  • He and his parental family were neighbours when he was a young man, living in the West End of Winnipeg. The family was very kind and open, I was only a child at the time, but I still remember their kindnesses, and inclusive manner. He grew up with those ingrained beliefs, that helped form him into the man he became. Rest in peace. Bob - Posted by: Bob Roddy (old neighbour ) on: Sep 22, 2018
