Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHARLES DOUGLAS ANDERSON March 11, 1954 - September 25, 2018 Peacefully on September 25, 2018, in Dauphin, Manitoba, our father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother and uncle, Charles Douglas Anderson passed away at the age of 64 years. "Chubby Doug" leaves to mourn his children, Sheldon (Wanda) Anderson, Cecile Murdock, Trevor Shorting, Jamie Shorting and Bobbi Lee; mother, Mabel Anderson; grandchildren, Faith, Angel, Andre, Ezra, Jewel, Hope, Jamie Rose, Darius, Dorian, Elliann, Evanee, Spencer, Jeffrey and Rory; great-granddaughter, Jenesys; sisters and brothers, Rose (Hector) Shorting, Mildred Anderson, Brad (Donna) Anderson, Bob (Tracy) Anderson, Mabel Anderson, Monica (Pat) Harvey, Brent (Deborah) Anderson and Dawn Anderson; "special nieces," Kayla Anderson, Rosemary Flett and Pippy Pruden, who adopted him as her uncle; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Charles was predeceased by his father, Thomas Edward Anderson; sister, Laura Anderson; son, Cyrus Shorting; and by his grandparents, Florence and Henry George Anderson and Alphonse and Amelia Parisien. Chubby Doug enjoyed playing baseball, hockey and curling. He loved to cook; even when he got sick, he still talked a lot about cooking. He always talked about his kids. Even when he wasn't with them, they were always in his heart. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed. The family wishes to express a special thank you to the Little Saskatchewan First Nation Chief and Council, the Dauphin Personal Care Home, the doctors and nurses at the Dauphin Hospital, Wilma Anderson, Little Saskatchewan VLTs, Pastor Walter Gabriel, Ted and Darlene Woodhouse, Mary Shorting-Sinclair and Rose and Hector Shorting for looking after him. A wake service will be held on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Both services will be held at Anderson Family Funeral Home, 9 Railway Avenue, Ashern, Manitoba, with Pastor Walter Gabriel officiating.
