BERTHA OLIVE FLETT Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, it is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Bertha Flett on Monday, September 24, 2018 in Winnipeg, MB at the age of 73. Left to mourn her passing are her granddaughter Sierra (Purvis) Harper and great-grandson Ottion; son-in-law Roger Harper; sisters, Shirley Beardy, Carol (Mathias) Harper; brothers, Ron (Linda) Flett, donald (Darlene) Flett; sister-in-law Ida Flett; brother-in-law Oliver Monias, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Bertha was predeceased by her daughter, Donna Harper; parents, Nelson and Annie Flett; brother Lawrence Flett and sisters, Audrey Monias and Barbara Joyce Flett. Bertha was a registered nurse and worked in Norway House Hospital and Garden Hill Nursing Station. then she moved to Winnipeg and worked at the Misericordia Hospital and St. Boniface Hospital. Her passion was helping children and young adults with diabetes. She helped with Donna Harper Memorial Diabetes Camp, held every summer at the Island Lake Old Post. Bertha will be remembered for her contagious laughter. Wake service will be held on Friday, September 28 at Sanderson Funeral Home, 1336 Main Street at 7:00 p.m. Also a wake service will be held Saturday, September 29 and Sunday, September 30 in Garden Hill, MB. Funeral service will be held at the Henry Fiddler Memorial United Church, Garden Hill, MB on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.
