DOLORES (PATSY) SCHAUBROECK
Born: Nov 01, 1930
Date of Passing: Sep 25, 2018
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOLORES (PATSY) SCHAUBROECK November 1, 1930 - September 25, 2018 It is with sad but loved-filled hearts that we announce the passing of Dolores (Patsy) Schaubroeck at St. Boniface Hospital, beneath the roof-top lighted cross that she gazed at and meditated with throughout her life. She has been called to heaven where her loving heart is joined for eternity with her gracious God and where she will once again live side by side with Maurice, her husband and best friend. Mom was predeceased by Maurice, by her mother and father, Edna and Alphonse Doiron, her in-laws, Thérèse and Archie Schaubroeck, her daughter-in-law Rachel Massicotte, her sister Tootsie, numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, as well as an unborn child that she has mourned and will rejoice in finally meeting. She leaves behind her six children: Gerry (Cathy), Richard (Alix), Albert, Gilbert (Cecilia), Marguerite (Albé Jr.) and Bernadette (Doug), as well as 18 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren and their parents. She is also survived by her brother Leonard, his wife Andrée and their family, as well as the Schaubroeck family that she loved dearly. We never thought that Mom could survive Dad's passing seven years ago, and even though she missed him terribly, she showed herself to be a strong woman and a wonderful role model to follow. She was a faith-filled person for whom family was everything. She allowed us, her children, to make our own choices, never criticizing, always supporting, and fiercely protecting us if needed. Mom could listen for hours on end, giving comfort over the phone or when visiting at the hospital or at Taché. If you spent time with her you were left knowing that you were valued and were important. She loved to laugh and had a bit of a mischievous sense of humour. She loved shopping and was always looking for that special bargain. She enjoyed the people at le Foyer Vincent where she and Dad moved 10 years ago and where they teased her about being the Queen. One of Mom's core values was to show appreciation and gratitude to others. So with her we thank everyone at Foyer Vincent for their friendship and support. We are grateful for the staff from home care who visited daily and to the wonderful staff from 4B at St. Boniface Hospital who ensured that her stay there was comfortable. The funeral will be held at la paroisse du Précieux Sang, 200 rue Kenny, at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 1. If you choose to, in lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to a charity of your choice. We will miss you greatly, but as you said to us just last week, Mom, we will meet again! On t'aime, Maman! The Coutu Family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU & CO. I met Dolores, or "Patsy" as she wanted me to call her, at Foyer Vincent where I reside. It was easy to love this lady as we shared the same love for life and found the same things funny, When she found out my dad used to call me "SusieQ" we called each other by our nicknames. I'd sit beside her for lunch and deliver her food to the table so much so that I told her I'd buy her a tiara to which she replied laughing, "don't bother I already have one from the kids"!! To "THE QUEEN", I will miss your stories, your jokes, your quick wit, your love for life, your smile and your many family photos. I will miss hearing how much you loved Maurice, your children, grandchildren, etc. Most of all, I will miss the smile you always had for me. Rest in peace sweet Patsy, my life has been enriched for having known you. Linda Broesky "SusieQ". - Posted by: Linda Broesky (Friend) on: Sep 30, 2018
