JASON (J) ROBERT NYHUIS
Date of Passing: Sep 24, 2018
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJASON (J) ROBERT NYHUIS With deepest sorrow we announce the sudden, accidental, and tragic passing of Jason on September 24, 2018 at the age of 36. He is the beloved son of Dayle (Neubauer) and Jack; brother to Mike (Audra), Chris (Thiessen), Michele, Tania and Glenda. He was predeceased by his father in 1986. Jason was born in Winnipeg, where he lived most of his life, with shorter times residing in Calgary, Canmore and the Dominican Republic. But he always called St. Vital his home base due to the many friends he made there during his high school years. Jason became a Master Taper and Renovator, but he was also very artistic, a deep thinker and a sensitive writer of short stories and poetry. He was a jokester with a razor sharp wit, was super friendly to all and always ready to lend a helping hand. In recent years his body became broken and ravaged by Ankylosing Spondylitis but he never totally lost hope for a better future. Jason was a complicated, private man, whose deepest quests in life were to learn the secrets of the Universe and to somehow find a way to know his dad. Although he will be terribly missed by all his loved ones, we pray that in Heaven he has found a way to do both, free from pain. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave. at Henderson Highway, Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers, please consider a gift to make the Bruce Oake Recovery Centre a reality. www.voyagefuneralhomes.com

Jason and I have been friends since high school and although we had drifted apart in recent years, we shared a lot of good times. He was a thoughtful and caring friend and when I was going through a hard period in my life he was there for me, which I have never forgotten. One memorable New Years Eve, during one of the most challenging periods when I was at my lowest, he made sure I wasn’t alone and brought me out with a group of his good friends and made sure I felt welcome and included. May not seem like a lot but it meant a lot to me and I’m not sure he realized how much it was appreciated. My condolences to his family. Rest In Peace Jay. - Posted by: Chris Millman (Friend) on: Sep 30, 2018
