Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWERNIE KLASSEN Wernie Klassen passed away on Friday, September 28, 2018. He was born in Colonia Menno, Chaco, Paraguay on June 28, 1979 to Annie and Jacob Klassen. He immigrated with his family to Canada when he was a toddler. He grew up and lived the rest of his life in Winnipeg, MB. He was a hard worker but after he was diagnosed with MS, he had to eventually stop working. Even battling MS he remained strong and lived his life, taking walks and barbecuing for as long as he could. Wernie is survived by his three children, Hope, Alexandra and Nikolus; his five brothers and his father. He was predeceased by his mother. A short outdoor service in honour of Wernie's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at the Memorial Garden in Transcona Cemetery, 5014 Dugald Road. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the MS Society. www.voyagefuneralhomes.com

Wernie was a very good friend to me always providing a listening ear for as long as I needed. I had learnt of his passing after the fact and it was quite a shock to me. Wernie loved people and was known to stop by, (before he was stricken with MS) pull up a chair outside that he would have brought, pull out his wompa and Yerba with a smile on his face and start chatting. His love for all of his children was larger than life itself, whenever he would talk about the them, his face glowed with pride. He would talk about his times with them playing whatever it was they wanted to play, finishing it off with some cookies and chocolate milk. My heart goes out to his children as life with their father was cut way too short, but they can seek comfort in the fact that he is in a better place than this Earth can offer and he adored them and would have given them the world if he could have. His roots and family were very important to him. His little sayings and positive attitude will be missed. Rest in Peace Klassen. My deepest condolences goes out to his family. - Posted by: Dia (Friend) on: Apr 17, 2020
