DOUGLAS HAROLD YALE It is with heavy hearts that the family of Douglas Harold Yale announces his passing, after a brief illness, on Sunday, September 30, 2018, at the age of 77 years. Doug will be forever remembered by his partner, Charlene Guenette (and her children Adrien and Danielle), and his children, Robert (Darcie) and Brenda. He will also be dearly missed by his two grandchildren, Matthew and Tyler, his sister Mary Grace (Brian) Drury, and his many cherished friends. Doug was predeceased by his beloved wife of 40 years, Carole. Doug spent his working career at Imperial Steel Products Ltd. Doug was a well-respected member in the steel industry. He was known for his honesty, commitment, pride in his work and the company he worked for. Many of Doug's colleagues became both teammates on the Steelers hockey team and lifelong friends. In retirement, Doug met and formed a special bond with his partner Charlene. Together they enjoyed the quiet of being together, but also the warmth of being surrounded by their dear family and friends. Doug loved to socialize. All who knew Doug will remember his warm handshake, his firm embrace and his resounding laughter, which brightened our lives. Doug, we love and miss you. We will carry you with us in our hearts forever. • I remember Doug and his spirit, joix de vivre! Loved attending the family bbq's and pool parties with my family. • I am sorry to learn of Doug’s passing. My best memories of Pistol Lake are time spent with him and all the lake “folks” on the deck at the cottage, sharing lies, laughter and smiles, and Dougie’s laugh was always the loudest and his smile the brightest. He will be missed by all who knew him, but his memory will always make us smile. - Posted by: Tom Mac Nair (Friend ) on: Oct 03, 2018

  • I was terribly saddened to hear of the passing of Doug and wish to pass on my sincerest condolences to the family. Representing a Hamilton based steel mill a number of years ago, it was always a delight to encounter Doug, spend time with and enjoy the company of an absolutely delightful man. I know Doug was held in very high regard by all who knew him, of which I am most definitely one. - Posted by: Bob Miller (Business associate) on: Oct 02, 2018
