Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDENNIS JOSEPH KENNY December 14, 1918 - September 28, 2018 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Husband, Dad, and Pepere. Dad passed away, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife Leontine, five daughters, Louise (Norm), Rita (Wilmar), Doris (Hans), Janine (Jim) and Lorraine (Paul), daughter-in-law Susan (Norm), 16 grandchildren, Susan (Iain), Karen (Dan), Vanessa (Glenn), Megan, Stefan (Joanna), Renae (Chris), Michelle, Ian, Christopher (Chandra), Nicole (Scott), Jonathan, Melissa (Riley), Jessica (Ross), Laura (Ryan), Andrew, Evan, and nine great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Donald, son-in-law Dennis, all his siblings, and numerous in-laws. Dad grew up in St. Germain in a large French Catholic family. He attended St. Boniface College and was proud to have enlisted in the Air Force, as an aircraft mechanic, during the Second World War. In 1946, he built and opened Kenny's Garage, which he owned and operated for 33 years. In 1949, he married the love of his life, Leontine Desautels. The family moved to St. Norbert in 1967. In 2011, Mom and Dad moved to Villa Aulneau where he was presently living. He really enjoyed his time there. Mom and Dad loved to travel. They motored from coast to coast in Canada, north to Alaska, and flew as far as Hawaii, Europe and Australia. Dad was very creative and had a lot of interests including gardening, wood carving, and building furniture. He loved his long walks. He would walk to The Forks or around St. Boniface regularly. Dad was honoured to be a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, and religion was essential to him. His greatest joy was his family He had a strong sense of faith, humour, and "joie de vivre". Dad truly lived his life to the fullest. His memory will be cherished, and he will be missed by all. The family would like to thank the staff on 6E at St. Boniface Hospital for their wonderful care. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at the St. Norbert Catholic Church (70 St. Pierre St.) on Friday, October 5 at 10:45 a.m. Eulogy will be at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Norbert Parish, or to the charity of your choice.

So sorry for your loss! Met him for the first time just over 10 years ago while he helped our son Ross remove a heavy antique piano from our house! He would have been late 80s! He and Ross then quickly proceeded to ‘deconstruct’ the piano and salvaged the hardwood inside for his many projects! What a guy! Loved hearing the wonderful, often funny, stories about this papa/pepere/grand pepere ... May your wonderful memories help you through this time of grieving and beyond ...
