RONALD DEAN (RON) TAYLOR 1961 - 2018 It is with deep sorrow we announce the peaceful passing of Ron on September 24, 2018, with his children at his side. He is survived by his loving sons Austin and Clayton; devoted daughter Casey; his mother Valdina; sister Jamie (Brian Culligan); brother Peter; special niece Alexis; and the children's mother Shannon. He will also be greatly missed by numerous aunts, cousins and friends. Ron was predeceased by his father Roy in 1973. Ron was born in Winnipeg on January 3, 1961 to Roy and Valdina Taylor. He attended Laidlaw, Shaftesbury High and Lethbridge Community College. Ron spent many years "living the dream" as a back country ranger in the Clearwater Forest area of the Canadian Rockies. He later worked for the Alberta oil industry and most recently Genesee Power Corp. Ron was a person of high spirit and a great sense of humour. He was a natural athlete excelling in hockey and football. He loved the outdoors; fishing, golfing, snowmobiling, motorcycles, hiking and the beauty of nature that surrounded him in his country home. Ron's children were his greatest joy in life and he loved them immeasurably. He was extremely proud of the wonderful young men and woman they've become. They gave him great strength and took tender care of him until his passing. Ron kept in close contact with his Winnipeg friends, visiting here every summer. Many of these friends made the trip out to visit him during his illness. Thank you. Ron also had a large group of Alberta friends and they had regular country bonfire parties. What a life! We would like to thank everyone that rallied around him with visits and outings during this trying time, especially Shannon, Sherrie, Kevin and Rob. Viewing was held in Leduc, Alberta and cremation has taken place. Ron's life will be celebrated on October 12, 2018 at The Assiniboine Park Pavilion Atrium, 55 Pavilion Crescent, Winnipeg, MB, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Flowers gratefully declined. Goda nott Ronnie elskan min.

  • I went to school with Ron and Shannon in Lethbridge. We spent lots of time together there and I was privileged to have known him, Shannon and their kids. He had a great sense of humour and was always fun to be around. Rest in peace my ol friend, and prayers to his families. - Posted by: Lindsey Leko (Friend) on: Dec 08, 2018

  • Ron was one of my all time favourite cousins. It was always so much fun to see him! He had a wicked sense of humour and loved to tease. He was thoughtful and so caring. I will miss him as we all will. My heart goes out to the whole family. He left us far too early but will be in our hearts forever. I am so sorry I wasn't able to make the memorial service. • My condolences to Ron’s entire family. RT, you were one heckuva good teammate and friend, both on and off of the ice. You always had our backs and you many times led the charge in that respect. Your wit, intelligence and free spirit will be missed. You were one of a kind. Cheers to you,“Steamer”, until we meet again. - Posted by: Grant Bannatyne (Friend) on: Oct 06, 2018
