DANIEL (DANNY) GILLES LEPAGE It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dearest husband, dad and grandpa, Danny Lepage on October 3, 2018. Left to grieve are his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Marilyn; his children: Stephan (Kara), Daneige and Justin (Mandi); grandchildren: Samara, Asher and Abbey; sisters: Sylvia, Liliane, Nadine (Jean) and Nicole; and brother, Gerry (Wanda). He was predeceased by his mother Evelyne (1979) and his father Germain (2014). Also grieving are his brothers and sisters-in-law, along with many cherished nieces and nephews. Danny was born in Flin Flon, Manitoba on December 10, 1953. It was there he learned to love the woods and nature while exploring. At the age of 10 his family moved to Winnipeg where Danny started to work at the tender age of 15. He always had a strong work ethic just like his father. He was a dairy man for many years and went to the University of Manitoba in the midst of working for Modern Dairies. There he received his certification in Dairy Science after which he became a Master cheese-maker and Master butter-maker, among other related achievements. This career moved the family to Steinbach, Winnipeg, Alberta and even Yellowknife. Years later Danny switched gears and began a new career in 1998 where he worked at the Royal Canadian Mint for a total of 20 years. For most of his career at the Mint he was a Lead Hand in the Plating Department. He developed many strong and lasting relationships with those he worked with and inspired many to hard work through his values - which were always evident in what he set his hands and mind to. Everywhere we lived, everywhere we went, people warmed to this caring, hard-working man, unsurpassed in his generosity. Our neighbours were always blessed by him - seeing if someone needed anything done, or through the generous gifts of wonderful cheese and ice cream. He had a knack for understanding machinery and knew what made everything tick. He also liked to tinker and make things in his garage. It was about 1990 that Danny rekindled his relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and his favourite verse was 2 Corinthians 5:8. Our deepest gratitude and appreciation to the Palliative staff at Riverview and Grace Hospice. Our heartfelt thanks go out to everyone there who cared for Danny. ...My Daniel, we have spent 40 years together, my Love. Where did they all go? I cherish the thought that we have an eternity to be together in laughter and love... In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to Grace Hospice and Riverview Health Centre. In keeping with Danny's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald St. E.J. Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • Dan ...we had great fun 'hunting rabbits and skunks in the Supercrete yards on Laverendrye St.! Fishing from the Seine River was always a joy especially when our eyes would light up when catching jackfish! Those were the days and I truly relish their memories especially with a friend such as yourself! God bless you Dan! - Posted by: Clovis Beaudry (Friend) on: Mar 10, 2023

  • Our dear friend, Danny, "Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one the chain will link again." Your friend of 48 years will forever miss you PS: I hope there are lots of fish in heaven Rest in peace, and know that you were loved! - Posted by: Ginette and Jean-Luc Boulloigne (friends) on: Oct 09, 2018

  • I loved Danny like a brother, which he was. A wonderful addition to our family. A man who was definitely generous and so thoughtful of everyone. He loved his wife, his children, and lived life well. What stands out is he was a man who prayed for his family and prayed with his wife. What a legacy he's left for his children in this. - Posted by: Pat Letkemann (Sister-in-law) on: Oct 08, 2018

  • Everyone who took the time and was fortunate enough to spend time with Danny knew he loved his family very much. Darlene and I had many great times playing cards, going on trips to the States, or just relaxing by a fire. The last thing I confidently said to Danny was, “see you later.” - Posted by: Vince Dandeneau (Brother in law ) on: Oct 06, 2018

  • I worked with Danny for many years. Danny without a doubt had the respect of everyone he worked with. His old school values and kind heart inspired all who knew him to be better people. He was always there to help those in need, and gave to others without ever expecting anything in return. I am a better person for knowing him, and he will be greatly missed. - Posted by: Kevin Suknacki (Freind, and co worker) on: Oct 06, 2018
