RENE JOSEPH CAMILLE MARCOUX June 9, 1938 - October 1, 2018 It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dad, Rene Marcoux. On Monday, October 1, after a brief but valiant fight with cancer, our dad peacefully passed, surrounded by family. Rene is survived by his children: Angel Marcoux, Rene Marcoux and Tracy Marcoux; grandsons, Steven Marcoux and Nicolas Marcoux; sister Jeannette Nault; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Claire and Lucille, as well as brothers, Raymond, Andre and Claude. Rene was born in Lorette, Manitoba to Armand and Alice Marcoux and moved to St. Boniface as a boy. He was the fifth of seven children. He held many interesting jobs but most of his work years were spent at Paramount Glass and Millwork. Rene was a great storyteller and had a wonderful, sarcastic sense of humour which he passed on to his children. He was quite the practical joker and enjoyed making people laugh. Rene loved to reminisce about the good old days and had a story for every road trip. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion on Marion where he enjoyed spending time playing slots with friends. Thank you to the staff at No Frills on Goulet who always took time to make sure my dad left with a smile. He had many friends in the apartment block where he lived - among them Mariette, Adelle and Annette. Thank you to the staff at St. Boniface Hospital who showed kindness and empathy during this difficult time. In keeping with Rene's wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. There is a hole in the universe that was once occupied by our dad that can never be filled.
