Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM (TONY) PELLETIER William passed away at the age of 95 on October 4, 2018. He was the eldest of nine children born to Clara (nee Fidler) and Charles Pelletier of Winnipeg (St. Charles) where Tony continued to reside until his passing. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife Yvonne in 1994; siblings Homer, Lloyd, Adele, Marie; and nephews Gerald and John Cuipka. He is survived by his siblings Gloria Goodine, Jessie (Orest) Cuipka, Marty (Pat) Pelletier and Lorne Pelletier. Also mourning his passing are nieces and nephews: Karen Topham, Glory Lister, Rachel Chuipka, Allen Chuipka and Gabriel Pelletier; and his step-grandchildren, Sylvie Hosick and Rick Vanburg. Tony's lifelong enjoyment of golf started when he was a caddy at Glendale Golf Course. He won the Manitoba Amateur Championship at age 15 and then again at age 16. He was a natural athlete, active in baseball, hunting and curling. During the Second World War Tony joined the army and saw active service in Germany and Italy. Upon returning home he began a lifelong career in the produce industry, retiring from Westfair Foods. He married Yvonne in 1975 and, until her passing in 1985, they enjoyed many winter holidays in Corpus Christie. He was a Life Member of the Army, Navy and Air Force in Canada, Unit 283, having joined in 1949. In the last couple of years Tony's heart began to fail but his mind remained sharp. His brothers Lorne and Marty (Pat) assisted him during this time with daily living, appointments, etc. A memorial service will be held at the ANAF Unit 283 at 3584 Portage Avenue on October 16 at 1:00 p.m. Flowers are gratefully declined but, if so desired, a donation may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. Our thanks to his many friends for being there for him, as well thanks to those who cared for him at the Grace Hospital.
