Nicholas or Nick or St. Nick to friends was born on February 8, 1952 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. His second birth was on August 25, 1964 when he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Saviour. Nick completed his education at the University of Manitoba graduating with Honours in Commerce. Nick was married to Lori (Kliewer) from May 5, 1972 to the fall of 1994. Upon completion of his education, Nick started his Chartered Accounting career with Federal Industrial Bank of Canada in Grand Prairie, Alberta. He eventually worked for Peat Marwick & Mitchell, Coopers and Lybrand, C.A. DeFehr. After working for many companies, Nick started his own accounting firm with Eagle Ridge Financial Services Inc., which he was the president until his death. Nick was predeceased by his mother Lena Hildebrand (nee Stengel) in 1964 and his father Jack Hildebrand in 1989. Nick is survived by his children, Kathryn N. Labiuk (Darryl), and J. Matthew Hildebrand; and his grandchildren, Mason and Addison Labiuk. Nick will be missed by his brothers, Jack (Lynne), Peter, and Glenn (Lynne); nephew Julien, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. During Nick's life he enjoyed the time with his family and friends traveling to such places as Europe, Africa, Asia and even visited relatives in Russia during the time when Russia went from communist to a democratic country. He also enjoyed his hunting and fishing trips throughout the country, and Nick enjoyed his story-telling. We are grateful to everyone who visited Nick in St. Boniface Hospital and their staff. As to abide Nick's wishes there will be a celebration of Nick's life on Saturday, October 20 at 11:00 a.m. at Provencher Community Church, 230 Provencher Blvd. Interment will follow after luncheon at Sunny Side Cemetery, located south of Garvin Road in the RM of Springfield.
