Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELEANOR JESSIE CRITCHLEY (nee KINZEL) July 22, 1948 - October 9, 2018 Peacefully, our loving mother passed away surrounded by her children on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at the Misericordia Health Centre after a long battle with brain cancer-Glioblastoma. She is survived by her children, Dean Critchley (Treena), Carrie Critchley (Darren) and Donna Lakusta (Terry). She had grandchildren who loved her dearly: Melanie, Eric, Abby, Sophie, Willow and Brent. She also leaves behind her two brothers, David Kinzel (Arlene) and Clifford Kinzel (Ria), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her father Alex Kinzel, mother Bernice Laine, stepfather Leon Laine and her sister Dorothea Kinzel. Our mom was born, raised, and educated in Winnipeg. She attended the St. Boniface School of Nursing in 1982. After her graduation in 1983, she spent her entire nursing career working at the Misericordia Health Centre until she retired in 2006. This was a profession she took pride in and loved dearly. "To the world you are a mother, to your family you are the world." We want to thank the doctors and nurses at CancerCare who were there throughout her journey. A huge thank you to the nurses, doctors and friends at the Misericordia Health Centre. They all gave our mom the best care possible in the last few months of her life. She was fortunate to end her battle in a place that gave her comfort, a career she loved and lifelong friendships. In keeping with our mom's wishes, cremation has taken place. Please join us to celebrate our mom's life on Monday, October 22, at 11:00 a.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada. E.J. COUTU & CO FUNERAL DIRECTORS 680 Archibald Street 204-253-5086 ejcoutu.ca
