REG WIEBE It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved brother and uncle, Reg Wiebe, on October 11, 2018 at the age of 61 years. Reg grew up in the Oak Bluff area, attending Oak Bluff Elementary School and Sanford Collegiate. Most of his working career was spent at CN, working at "C" Tower and then later as a conductor, retiring in 2015 after 35 years of service. Reg was predeceased by his father and mother, Harry and Nettie Wiebe, and his brother Garry. He is survived by his brother Dale (Maureen) Wiebe, sister Karen (Doug) Monteith, nephew Anthony (Heather) Wiebe, nieces, Shawnalee (Cory) Redwood, Candace (Brad) Gauthier and Jennifer Evans (Francois Richard), as well as the great-nieces and nephews, Sydney, Lauren, Meredith, Emma, Deakin, Aiden, Aimee, Charlie and Lillian. He also leaves to mourn his passing, his close friends and fishing buddies, Gary Mymko and Ron McDougall. Reg followed the Jets and the Bombers and loved his NFL team - the Patriots. He was a collector of post war Lionel train sets and enjoyed "playing" in his electronics workshop. He would do anything to help out his family and friends. Reg was a special soul - a gentle man who always put others first. We will miss his quiet humour and gentle sarcasm. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the nurses and staff at the Victoria Hospital for their care and compassion during Reg's final days. According to Reg's wishes, no funeral will be held. If you should so desire, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.

Saw Reg shortly after he retired. He was out for a walk on a Saturday morning at Assiniboine park. He looked really good, happily enjoying the freedom of retirement. RIP brother - Posted by: Dennis (Co worker) on: Oct 16, 2018

My deepest condolences to the Wiebe family. I retired around the same time as Reg did and I can tell you that he was one of the best railroaders I have had the pleasure to work with. I had an appendicitis attack at the hotel in International falls we rode back together by taxi where I had it removed. Had it not been his convincing nature to say to me I think you should come back to Winnipeg and go to the hospital I would NOT be writing this Story to you today. Reg saved my life and I am very grateful for what he did for me. I will never forget him. God bless Reg and rest in peace my friend. - Posted by: bill tataryn (co-worker) on: Oct 15, 2018
