HELEN NAHORNY (YANKEWICZ)

HELEN NAHORNY (nee YANKEWICZ) Peacefully, Helen passed away of October 7, 2018. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Norman, sister Anne Danyluk and brother Walter. Helen is survived by her son Bruce (Candy) and grandchildren, Tamara (Roger and his children) and Tyler (Kathryn). Helen and Norman enjoyed every summer at LinkLater Lake in Northwestern Ontario since 1950. Being the pioneers that they were, they even spent their honeymoon there. Helen retired from Hudson's Bay downtown after having worked in women's fashion and cosmetics for 29 years. She took very much pride in her appearance and was always very stylish. Helen enjoyed singing in the HBC Christmas Choir. After retirement she loved to travel to places like Russia, The Canary Islands, The Dominican Republic, Tunisia, Gibraltar, China and Spain. Special thanks must be give to the caring staff at Oakview Place, especially Tatjana, Barb, Val, Espie, Marilyn and Jose. As per her request, there will for no service. Her remains will be placed with Norman at the place they loved the most.
