ELI MATHIEU MARION March 3, 1994 - October 6. 2018 My son passed away in his sleep in Vancouver, BC, the city he was so looking forward to visiting. He leaves to mourn his Dad, Guy; his stepsister Gillian; aunts and uncles Gisele (Pat), Diane, Bev, Jace (Ian), Nicky (Len), Louise (Cal), Lisette (Dan), Dori (Jeff), Shane (Marni); many cousins, John, thank you for reaching out to him; friends Anthony and Adam. He lost his mother, Diane, to cancer last November. He loved her dearly. This last year had been very difficult for him. Eli struggled with many issues but, with the help of Dr. Wakeman and Michelle Hominick, he was getting the help he was seeking. He loved making his own dispatch calls about the L.A.P.D. He had over 600 on his phone. He had a passion for buses. He would always tell me what kind they were and when they were placed in service. Eli, you were so worried about my dying - now you don't have to worry. Your anxieties are gone. You and Mom are looking over me, I know that. I'll be joining you when the Lord decides it is time. Love Dad. Funeral services at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 4588 Roblin Blvd., at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 27.

Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • I was thinking about my friend Diane today and went online to read the obituary and to my surprise saw Eli's. Years ago I spent alot of time with Diane and Eli - I met Diane after I had my 2nd Daughter, Leanda, and met her on the sidewalk in front of my house when we lived on Cullen. From that day on we were inseparable for years. We took the kids everywhere together, beach, park, playground, spent many hours just having a coffee together and watched and played with the kids. Diane and Eli together again. I am so sorry for your loss Guy- I can't even begin to imagine how you got through this. Please know that Diane and Eli will always be in my heart and thoughts. • oh Guy, I'm so sorry for your loss. Eli was a good kid with a warm heart. I wish I would have met him under different circumstances. I'm grateful I got to meet you and your family. If you need anything you know where to find me, and from all of us our deepest condolences. John G - Posted by: john gano (acquaintance ) on: Nov 29, 2018

  • I just wanna say how sorry I was to hear of his passing. He & I had a bit of a rocky relationship, but he was a stand up, smart guy. He knew a lot about mental health & its bittersweet that he's no longer suffering & is back with his mom. Guy, I can't imagine how you feel. My sincerest condolences, he'll be missed. Rip 'Sophistaface' (we called him that because he always looked so sophisticated, lol). Xo - Posted by: Brittany Chemerika (Old friend. ) on: Nov 24, 2018

  • Guy- my heart hurts for you and words escape me at this difficult time. I met Eli in 2006 and I was so excited to see him again at Diane's Celebration this summer. Be gentle with yourself and I hope you find some strength through your faith, family and friends. Hugs, Colleen Olafson - Posted by: Colleen Olafson (Friend) on: Oct 24, 2018
