MINNIE CHOMOKOVSKI (nee FUCHS) Peacefully on July 28, 2018, and at 92 years old, Minnie Chomokovski passed away at the Arborg and District Hospital after a short illness. Minnie is survived by her children, Richard (Marie) and Cathy (Craig) Smith, grandchildren, Steven, Patrick (Aynsley), Derrick (Alexa), and great-grandchildren, Everett, Leo and Adelaide. Also left to mourn are her sisters, Viola and Helen (Jake), sisters-in-law, Evelyn, Marge and Agatha, and on the Chomokovski side, sisters-in-law, Kay, Olga, Doris, Olive, Rose Marie, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by her infant daughter Sharon, husband Steve in 1997, parents, Emil and Annie Fuchs, brothers, Abe, Leonard, Carl and Waldo; sister Marianne; brothers-in-law, Dick Friesen and Walter Begalke; and on the Chomokovski side, Peter, John, Paul, Martin, Walter, Carl Lampel, and sisters-in-law, Dorothy and Carol. Mom was born on January 2, 1926 at Lowe Farm, MB. She met her husband Steve in 1943/1944 teaching school in the Rosenburg, MB area. They married in 1950 and worked hard while raising their two children on the farm. Mom was a great baker, avid gardener, and continued to be the backbone of the farm until she became ill earlier this year. She kept a diary since she was a young girl and would often share valuable information and wonderful memories. She is greatly missed. The family would like to thank Dr. Donnelly and the wonderful staff at the Arborg Hospital for the care they gave her. A celebration of her life will be held at the Arborg Christian Fellowship Church on November 3, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.
