Date of Passing: Oct 21, 2018
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPAULINE CHESTER March 11, 1932 - October 21, 2018 It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our beautiful Pauline after a courageous battle with cancer. Pauline was born and raised in Winnipeg. She met and married the love of her life, Gus, in 1951 and raised two daughters. Pauline was the model "hostess with the mostest" and warmly welcomed everyone into her home. Anyone who attended a special occasion family dinner knew how much love she put into entertaining her family and friends. She was an excellent baker. She enjoyed playing card games and was a fierce competitor. Pauline was predeceased by her parents, John and Vera Maling, husband Gus in 1995, brother Edward Maling in 1992, daughter Christine Leach in 2008, and son-in-law Brian McLeod in 2017. She is survived by daughter Carol Chester-McLeod, son-in-law Gerry Leach, sister Rose Gevoga, brother Nick (Helen) Maling, grandson Cory (Stefani) McLeod, great-grandson Zayne, and several cousins. Pauline also had a special place in her heart for sister-in-law Sharon Maling, niece Val Mulder (Stewart), nephews, John Gevoga, Jason Maling (Bernice) and Scott Maling (Amy) and families. There are also many surviving family members on the Chester side of the family. A huge thank-you to Pauline's superb care-providers, especially family physician Dr. G. Lipinski and all staff of 3East at Riverview Health Centre. Per Pauline's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Riverview Health Centre's Palliative Care Program.
