Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Mrs. Ungrin was the very BEST, most influential teacher I ever had, which was my a grade 3 year. She instilled a love of learning in me, especially in Math. She motivated me to be a good student and instilled much more confidence in me! She inspired me to become a teacher myself!! I have never forgotten her and have so much appreciation and gratitude for her! She was a Game Changer for me, a truly beautiful person! So sorry for your loss. - Posted by: Dianne Sproll ( nee Harris) (Student ( she was my Grade 3 teacher at Robertson Elementary School)) on: Oct 27, 2018

  • What a wonderful teacher - always caring and concerned about how you were doing. We didn't know her age. We figured she was old - some 31 years at that time. Some of the students in the class were taking music lessons. My lifelong friend Vic and I were playing the accordion. France's was studying violin. On special occasions, Christmas parties for sure and several other times, she asked the three of us to bring our instruments and perform in class. I remember pulling the accordion to school on a wagon. Vic and I met Mrs Ungrin at a school reunion in the eighties and she looked and acted the same - a going concern - still interested in what we were doing and where we were going. Yes, a passionate and unforgettable educator. - Posted by: Joe Mackintosh (Student in her Grade 2 class at Cecil Rhodes School Winnipeg) on: Oct 27, 2018

  • A special person, a wonderful educator and colleague! It was a privilege to have known Cecile and have worked with her on several projects during her career in Winnipeg. She was a great example for all educators. She had special skills that endeared her to her students and colleagues alike. Her passing evokes many great memories. We have missed her presence in Manitoba and share your loss. She will be missed by many. - Posted by: Dennis Hallick (Colleague) on: Oct 27, 2018
