Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARVIN RUSSELL GORHAM It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Marvin Russell Gorham, at the age of 79, on the morning of October 30, 2018. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Diane; his children, Rick (Tina), Jim (Lawna), Kathy (Trevor), Jeff (Laura) and Kim (Chris), as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also mourning his loss are his siblings, nephews, nieces, and many spiritual friends. Marvin was born on September 6, 1939 in Ste. Rose, Manitoba. As a young boy growing up in Kelwood, he loved playing baseball, and worked hard helping his father in the fields and with the animals. In 1959 Marvin and Diane married and moved to Winnipeg where they began their lives together. While helping raise his family, Marvin took pride in his work as a welder. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, he loved serving the congregation as an elder, teaching and embracing all those who wanted his help. He spent many hours volunteering his time in the house to house ministry. He was a comforter, especially to those who lost loved ones in death, lovingly reminding them of God's future promise of a hope of living forever in a paradise earth where their sadness, sickness, pain and death will not exist. - Rev. 21:3,4. In the past four years as he fought his illness, he never lost sight of that hope and his faith remained strong. We saw this as he witnessed to doctors and staff just days before he fell asleep in death. He showed to his family right to the very end there is no better hope than the one that Jehovah God has promised us. As family and friends, Marvin would want us to take comfort from the Bible, leaving us with his favourite scripture to warm our hearts. Isaiah 41:10,13...'Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be anxious, for I am your God. I will fortify you, yes, I will help you, I will really hold on to you with my right hand of righteousness.' 'For I, Jehovah your God, am grasping your right hand, The One saying to you, 'Do not be afraid. I will help you.' The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at CancerCare Manitoba as well the Palliative Ward at St. Boniface Hospital. We would like to thank all those who came to visit Marvin and expressed their love for him in the last few weeks. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 937 Gateway Road, Winnipeg, Manitoba.

We are so very sorry for your loss, Gorham's family! We can not tell you how sorry were to hear about your dad! What a wonderful/loving/caring/thoughtful/outstanding man Marvin was!! Marvin was not ONLY a dad to his own children but to all of us irrespective of our races and ethnicities/colour. Even up to his deathbed, his profound wisdom, at the same time, his great sense of humor was unmatched! OH JEHOVAH, isn't it comforting to know that it is not gonna be too long before you/we see your dad and our friend? YES IT IS! But until, he will be GREATLY missed! Our sincere loving thoughts and prayers are with you all! Christian Love, Mike & Sarah, Asmir & Adriel Tsehaye - Posted by: Mike & Sarah, Asmir & Adriel Tsehaye (Family Friends) on: Nov 01, 2018
