AUGUST (GUS) JOSEPH MARQUETTE It is with great, heartfelt sadness that we announce Gus's very sudden passing on Friday, October 19, 2018. Born on July 27, 1941 in Woodridge, MB to parents, Frank and Yvonne (nee Carriere). Gus was 77 and resided in Sandy Hook, MB. Gus lived a fulfilling life as an amazing and devoted husband to his wife Betty, of 47 years, a loving and tender-hearted father to his daughter Tara (Rick), a proud and warm-hearted grandpa to his two grandchildren, Gus and Chloe, a kind and caring brother to all his siblings, Alex (Ronnie), Mary (Frank), Joe (Joyce) and Yvonne, brothers-in-law, Bob, Dennis and Ken. He loved all his nieces, nephews, cousins and was a friend to many. Gus enjoyed life. He enjoyed his career with the railway, hard work and fun. He enjoyed spending time with people golfing, playing chess or cards, playing guitar, piano and singing or just visiting, laughing and just having fun was always a part of Gus. His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone he interacted with. Celebration of Life memorial service on Tuesday, November 13, at 2:00 p.m. at Friends Funeral Home, 2146 Main Street.

  • Dear Betty and Tara. I am so sorry for the emptiness you must be now feeling. Gus was an amazing man and friend to us all. My father always spoke of your husband and dad with the greatest fondness. All our love from those both living and now departed. - Posted by: Boyd Belisle (Friend) on: Nov 10, 2018

  • We would like to express our most deepest and sincere sympathies to Betty and Tara and the rest of Uncle Gus' family. I will always remember Uncle Gus as a kind and thoughtful person. He was always interested in what you were doing and kept things positive. I am so glad that I had the opportunity to be with him, Uncle Joe and sisters a couple years ago at their family's get together. I know that Uncle Gus' has physically left us but he still exists spiritually. We will miss him and that special laugh but we will all have the opportunity to see and be with him again because of our Savior, Jesus Christ who broke the bands of death. Rest in peace uncle Gus until we meet again! Love, Ken, Angie, Staci and Josh Carriere. - Posted by: Ken Carriere (Nephew) on: Nov 05, 2018
