Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOAN GYDE April 20, 1949 - October 26, 2018 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing Joan Gydé (nee Paterson) on October 26, 2018 at the St. Boniface Hospital. Joan was predeceased by her parents, Carol and Lorraine Paterson. Joan will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 48 years, Michael, daughter Jennifer, son Malcolm (Andee), grandchild Emma, niece and nephew Kelly and Matthew Paterson. She is survived by her brothers, Daniel and Wayne Paterson. Joan spent her early childhood in Weston and later moved to Windsor Park. She met Michael Gydé at an UMSU dance where they knew they were meant for each other and married in 1970. She worked briefly for Perth's as a production clerk and later with the Federal Government until she became the mother of her two children. Joan was an avid learner and became an expert seamstress as well as an accomplished gardener. She developed a passion for cooking and baking healthy food for her family while creating a voluminous recipe library. She was a devoted spouse, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. A highly intelligent, compassionate and supportive woman with a wry sense of humour that put people at ease, Joan will be missed by all those whose lives she touched and enriched. We love you as long as numbers go on and longer. Cremation has taken place and immediate family has celebrated her life as per her wishes. Donations may be made to any charity of choice. E.J.
