STEVE MILOICA April 9, 1938 - November 6, 2018 It is with heavy hearts we share that Steve Miloica (also known as dad and grandpa) has met with St. Peter at the Pearly Gates. Steve was born in Prijedor, Bosnia and moved to North America as an adventurous young man where he met his former wife, Mira, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He is survived by his daughter Violet (Stephen Frost) and grandchildren, Victoria, Dominique and Garrison Frost. Steve was predeceased by his son Michael Miloica who was awaiting his eternal arrival in heaven. Steve was a proud and visionary individual who, in his early years in Canada, worked in the Northern provinces and was proud to talk about his time working on the Dew line. He supported the immigration to Canada of his parents, his sister Nevenka and family, and brother Dusan. As a young father, he obtained his realtor's license and proudly achieved Number Two sales' results in his first year. With his desire to live in BC, he moved west where he enjoyed a long career as a Longshoreman. Once he retired, he returned to Winnipeg where he built his retirement home. Wanting to be close to his daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren, he moved to Kelowna, BC summer 2014 where he enjoyed his final years. He was an avid chess player, and was always up for any challengers. He particularly enjoyed the camaraderie of the residents at Okanagan Chateau with many being very near and dear to him! With Steve's wish to be buried near his son Michael, his service will be held at Valleyview Funeral Home & Cemetery at 14644 72 Ave., Surrey, BC on Friday, November 16, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., officiated by Svestenik Marko. A Celebration of Life will be held in Kelowna at Okanagan Chateau on Saturday, December 8 at 2:00 p.m.
