REGINALD KOWALCHUK It is with heavy hearts that we share the sudden passing of our dearly loved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend on October 18, 2018. Reg was born on April 30, 1942 in Winnipeg, MB, to Mary and William Kowalchuk; eldest son and older brother to Gordon, Elizabeth and Rosemary. Reg was happily married for almost 55 years to his loving wife Doreen. Reg was proud of his children, Kim (Mike), Karla (Jeff), Rod (Peggy) and Kyle (Heather) and truly enjoyed his grandchildren, Adrian, Cole, Ryan, Jake, Josh, Lily and Rose. He attended the University of Manitoba, receiving a BSC. In 1968 he became a Chartered Accountant and received the FCA designation in 2000. He started his accountancy career at MacDonald Currie in Winnipeg and subsequently in Montreal. His taxation career continued with RBC and BMO. In 1978 he joined Scotiabank's Taxation Department in Toronto and ultimately retired as SVP of the department. He was also a Commissioned Officer with the Royal Canadian Naval Reserves and was Past International President of the Tax Executive Institute. He was very social and quick to make friends with the many people he met during his extensive travels with his wife Doreen and enjoyed the numerous gatherings with them and the Naval Alumni and Tax Executive Institute over the years. Reg will be greatly missed by his family and many friends worldwide. Memorial Mass has been held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the charity of your choice.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Doreen and Family, Joyce and I were shocked to hear of Reg's sudden passing. Reg was always so energetic and social with a large circle of friends who he always made an effort to contact whenever he could. We recall many wonderful get-togethers with our common CA friends. We offer our deepest sympathies and condolences to you and your family. Alec and Joyce Parlin - Posted by: Alec Parlin (Friend) on: Nov 21, 2018
