RONALD JOSEPH LEO HENAULT August 22, 1955 - November 17, 2018 It is with deep sorrow and sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father Ronald, surrounded by his loving family, at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 63 years, after a courageously fought battle with cancer. Ronald will be lovingly missed and remembered by his devoted family; daughter Lee-Ann (Mike); son Scott (Natalie); grandchildren, Kaylee and Jayden. Also left to cherish his memory are his sister Marlene; brother Wayne (Sandra); brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving wife Simone; parents, Léo and Eileen Hénault; and his brother Gerald. Ronald was born in St. Boniface and upon graduating high school, he began his career which included over 30 years with Public Works and Government Services Canada. He enjoyed his time working with the government because it was an opportunity for him to spend every day with Simone, the love of his life. His favourite pastime was jogging, and he was well-known in his neighbourhood due to his effortlessly graceful stride. Ronald loved his family more than anything else and when Simone passed, he became the pillar of strength that his children and grandchildren needed. Until he was diagnosed, he was always the first to volunteer whether it be for carpooling or helping out family on countless projects. He was always cheering on his grandkids from the stands and they brought him so much joy every day. He was the epitome of a great father and grandfather. Even though our hearts are broken now that he is gone, we take solace in knowing that he is now in the arms of his soulmate where he has always wanted to be. Funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Paroisse Saints-Martyrs-Canadiens, 289 Dussault Avenue, Winnipeg, MB with Rev. Phil Daley presiding. Inurnment will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery, 917 Archibald Street, Winnipeg, MB. If friends and family so desire, donations in Ronald's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 1160-675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Lee-Ann & Mike, Scott & Natalie, Marlene, Wayne & Sandra and family, we were very saddened to hear of Ron’s passing and offer our sincerest condolences at your loss. Ron was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, a loving, caring and supportive member of the family, and a kind and gentle man who will be sorely missed. While we did not see him very often, because of distances, we always enjoyed those times when we got together in Winnipeg and shared a few stories and jokes. We will always cherish those memories. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time of grieving. Avec toutes nos sympathies. My sincerest and deepest sympathies Lee-Ann, at the passing of your father. My heart goes out to you and your family at this very difficult time. It is never easy having a family member leave us, but I hope you can take solace in the fact that he now rests easy in the arms of your mother. He will forever look down upon you and live on within you, your brother and your children. I never had the opportunity to meet your dad, but from the many things you have shared with your colleagues here at work, we know he was a very loved man, and gave his best as a husband, father and grandfather to your family. Big hugs my girl! Vous êtes dans mes prières!! - Posted by: Jacquie Shackel (Friend and colleague) on: Nov 26, 2018

Lee-Ann, Scott and family, I am deeply saddened to hear that your dad has passed away. Ron was a warm and caring person who all co-workers enjoyed working with in my Systems Unit. I recall him always volunteering to take special cheque requests to the Distribution Unit because he could then see Simone! They were such a special couple and hopefully they are back together again....laughing and enjoying each other. - Posted by: Susan Katanna (Supervisor and co-worker) on: Nov 25, 2018
