ELIZABETH LENOSKI (nee BILAN) With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Elizabeth on November 22, 2018 surrounded by her family. Elizabeth was born in Kenora, Ontario on September 10, 1920. She had eight siblings and was the last surviving member of her family. She married her one true love, Stanley Lenoski, on July 18, 1942 and had a wonderful, loving marriage for 59 years until he passed on October 26, 2001. Her presence will be sadly missed by her children, Daniel Lenoski (Brigitte) and Darlene Phillips (Brian); her grandchildren: Erin (Kelly) Frey, Jason Wiersma (Athena), Anushka (Dean) Sotiriadis, Stephane (Jocelyn) Lenoski; Morgan, Tyler Phillips (Jen) and Graeme Phillips and her great-grandchildren: Alex, Connor, Maclean, Marshall, Morgan and Spencer; Austin and Naomi; Nalia and Nicolas; and Olivia. Mom loved her large extended family and one of her favourite traditions was hosting big family gatherings. She cherished every moment she had with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She and Stan loved attending every grandchild's activities whether it was hockey, concerts, dancing, gymnastics or birthdays. Many happy memories came from having the grandkids stay with them at their campsite at Grand Beach and later Spruce Sands. She continued to make traditional Ukrainian food, as well as great desserts and fantastic biscuits well into her 80s. Her pride and joy was the cookies she made for every special occasion, especially her birthday cookies. Mom was a gifted gymnast in her youth and very proud of performing in a troupe that travelled to a number of Canadian and US cities. She was an avid bowler until her late 80s. From her athleticism came her enjoyment and appreciation of all sports. She was a dedicated Jets Fan to the very end. She was an amazing and selfless caregiver. When Stan fell ill with Alzheimer's, no matter what the weather, she dutifully walked to the nursing home twice a day to feed him and did that until his last breath. When she was alone and it came time for her to be cared for, she defied her age and continued to live independently until very recently. "Mom, although we are all heart broken, we take comfort knowing that you are in Dad's arms again and in God's Eternal care. You will be forever missed and loved." In lieu of flowers, please make donations to CancerCare Manitoba. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Redeemer Parish, 264 Donwood Drive, Winnipeg on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, 520 Osborne St. Pallbearers will be Stephane Lenoski, Tyler Phillips, Graeme Phillips, Jim Lenoski, Chris Lenoski and Jeff Gerwing. Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 204-586-8044.

From the time I was very young I have known the Lenoski family. A kind and loving family all the time. Mrs. Lenoski and her late husband passed on down that kindness and loving to Daniel and Darlene. She brought happiness to many people. She came to my mother's funeral and I will not forget that kind act. Rest in peace wonderful lady. It was fantastic knowing you. We know that you were very close to your mom, Darlene. And that she was a great mother in law to Brian, grandmother to your children and great grandmother to Olivia. She was so involved in the life of your family and offered support for as long as she was able to do so. You have precious memories to cherish. Loving sympathy to all the family. - Posted by: Pat and jo-Anne Montgomery (friends) on: Nov 27, 2018

I had the privilege of working for Elizabeth but only for a few months. She was an absolute sweetheart to work for! She was a very kind, decent friendly lady who was always welcoming to me when I came there. My deepest condolences to the family. - Posted by: Kim (Former HCA) on: Nov 27, 2018
