The family thanks everyone on the 6th floor for their compassion and care during these final months. Alma will be deeply missed by Tom, her loving husband of 67 years, her daughter Joanne Castello (Jim), sons, Pat (Mary Jo) and Jim (Cathy), and grandchildren, Kerry, Kelly, Gillian, Ariel, Kailey, Alex, Kelsey and Jordyn. During her 103 years on this Earth, Alma had an impact on a great many people. She was a quiet rock of stability and love. Alma was predeceased by her parents, May and William, her brother "Jack" (Lois) and sisters, Viola Steggles (Robert) and Edna, as well as her first husband, Albert Douglas, who was killed when the H.M.C.S. Ottawa was sunk in 1942. The funeral will be held at St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church, 45 Foster Street at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 1. Father Greg Mulligan will lead the service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice.
