GORDON HOURIE Peacefully on November 30, 2018 Gord passed away at the age of 66 years. He was predeceased by his mom Helen, siblings, Bruce, Verna and Brian, nephew Daniel, grandparents, Bill and Daisy Hourie, Josie and Maude Thomas, and his great friend Len Anderson. He was born August 3, 1952 in Selkirk, MB. Gord was a very caring and loving person. He helped anyone in need. He was a real jokester. He loved to laugh. His honorary pallbearers are Clayton Viznaugh, Art Brown, Don Skrepetz, Glenn Williams, Stanford Morrisseau, Oliver Leclerc, Chuck Sinclair and Lonnie Hourie. Special thanks to family friend Joanne Proulx for the love and care she has given Gord especially during his stay in the hospital. Thanks as well to Marcella Vezina for everything she has done for the family. Her knowledge and guidance is greatly appreciated. Also a huge thank you to Dr. Demsas and staff at the Selkirk General Hospital. They said he was a model patient and easy to please. We all know how true that was. The family appreciates the support from the hospital staff, they looked after him very well. Gord enjoyed time with family and friends. On his last evening he gave signs that he was pleased to have family and friends with him. Gord will truly be missed. Funeral service will be Friday, December 7, 2018 in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, MB at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Vincent Solomon officiating. A luncheon will follow the service in the Patricia Beach Community Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
