Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNELLIE EVA SKOROPATA Peacefully, on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, Nellie Eva Skoropata passed away, with family at her side, at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg, MB. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Michele, son Neil, sisters, Isabel (Cliff) Oliver, Ruth Fincaryk and Victoria Weremy, nine wonderful grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Nellie was predeceased by her loving husband Michael (Mike), parents, Tom and Mary Rosky, brother Alex Rosky, and sister Lena Kelland. Mom was born on January 19, 1931 in Selkirk, MB. She married the love of her life, Mike on October 23, 1948 and spent 63 years with him, until his passing. Mom started her career as a dental assistant in the early 1950s with Dr. Peter Jackin. She went on to work at the University of Manitoba Dental College where she was a great help to many dental students. Later she worked with Dr. Leo Konyk in the City of Winnipeg Public Health Department, where she managed the school survey dental health program. On Halloween Mom would hand out sample sized toothpaste and toothbrush kits. Mom retired to a very active life with Dad. They spent many winters in Mesa, Arizona, where they made special friendships. All her "grandchildren" grew up hearing her sing "You are my Sunshine" to them. A very warm and special thanks are extended to her friends and staff at the Metropolitan Kiwanis Courts and to the doctors and nurses on the 3rd floor at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg. Thank you to Wojcik's Funeral Chapel for caring for Mom. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division. Condolences may be sent to www.wojciksfuneralchapel.com

We are so very sorry to learn of Nells` passing. She was one of the most generous people we have had the pleasure of meeting. We lived next door to Nell & Mike for many years. We would meet at the fence and visit and laugh and She always included us in all their family celebrations. We cherish all the happy memories. We extend our love, friendship and sincere sympathy to Michelle,Neil, all their families, and Nells`sisters and all their families.May she rest in peace.
