CATHERINE STERNS HARRISON Catherine was born in Dartmouth, NS on July 21, 1921 and died in Dartmouth, NS November 19, 2018, aged 97. She was the only daughter of the late Arthur Hare Weldon and the late Annie Catherine (Sterns) Weldon. She graduated from Dalhousie University with a B.A. in 1942 and a diploma in education in 1943, taught in Joggins and in October, 1944 married James L. Harrison, who predeceased her in April, 2006. While raising her family in Dartmouth, NS, Edmonton, AB, Winnipeg, MB and Kingston, Jamaica, Catherine was active in volunteer work, including the Grace Hospital, Winnipeg School Board and literacy tutoring and the Dartmouth General Hospital Auxiliary on returning to Dartmouth before retirement. Surviving are her four children, Ann Louise (the late T. Richard) Flint, David James (Christina) Harrison, Robert Arthur Harrison and Patricia Joan (Bernhard) Linnemann; nine grandchildren, Thomas James and David Bruce Flint, Melissa Lynn, Timothy Ross and Kimberly Nicole Harrison, Lenore Catherine Walsh and Kerri Joyce Harrison, and Emily Ann Sanders and Natalie Rose Linnemann; and five great-grandchildren, Colton Ronald Fuchko, Kai Robert Walsh and Maddox Danger Walsh, Charlotte Grace Sanders, and Rory Robert Sandilands. She is also survived by her younger brother, Richard Laurence (Joan) Weldon, their brother George Arthur (Frances) Weldon having predeceased her, and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Dartmouth General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held in Christ Church, 61 Dundas St., Dartmouth on January 9, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. with reception to follow in the church hall.
