Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRITA LILY SCHMIDT (nee BRUST) With our Lord December 13, 2018 With immense sadness we announce the passing of Rita Schmidt on December 13, 2018 peacefully surrounded by love and family. Rita left us the same way she lived her life, with dignity and in grace. She always knew what was needed, she put others happiness in front of her own and always put a smile on her face undeterred by her own adversities. Rita is deeply missed by her husband Harry, son Brent (Kristianna, Victoria and Alexandria), her daughter Lorina (Kevin and Owen), and her son David. She also leaves behind sister Annie, brothers, Harold (Marg), Walter and sister in love Irma (Wally and family). Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 21, at 11:00 a.m. at First Mennonite Church, 922 Notre Dame Ave.,Winnipeg.

So many wonderful memories of spending time with "Aunt" Rita and "Uncle" Harry at the lake, at your home, and other fun times together. Rita was such a kind person. I remember her getting Lily and I candy necklaces at the hockey rink concessions (Harold and Harry playing on the same team). Her smiling face and ready laughter was a wonderful greeting as she volunteered at Pembina Place where Tom's dad was a resident. So sad to hear of Rita's passing.
