Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRUDOLPH (RUDY) LAGE With family by his side, Rudy passed away peacefully on the morning of Wednesday, December 19, 2018. Rudy is lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, Louise (Lucy), daughter Margy (John Nelson) and son Ed (Joyce), along with grandchildren, Kristina (Andrew), Sean (Kara), Bryce, Jordan (Stasi), and great-granddaughter Lucy Marie. He was predeceased by his parents, mother-in-law, brothers, Len, John and Heinz, and sisters and brothers-in-law, Hilda, Friedchen, Marge and Ken. Rudy was born in Einlage, Ukraine, February 20, 1934, to Hans and Margarethe Lage, the youngest of four boys. Lage Bros. Pianos and Organs was the loving creation of Rudy and brothers, Leonard and John. Together their business had a reputation of being "one of the best". Our dad's gift to the business and to the community was his ear. He dedicated his life to ensuring pianos in Winnipeg were perfectly in tune! Rudy had a zest for life; we are certain he was the life of every party in his youth, and we know he was the most loving father and husband, to us. We will always treasure the gift of our childhood - the family cottage at Bird Lake which we spent countless summers enjoying all of lake-life activities; we were so fortunate! Dad was a proud man; he was also kind. He took as much pleasure in others' accomplishments as his own. A celebration of Rudy's life will be held Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at North Kildonan Mennonite Church, 1131 Roch Street. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Movement Centre of Manitoba, 1646 Henderson Hwy., Winnipeg, MB R2G 1N7 would be sincerely appreciated as Rudy's grandson Bryce benefits greatly from the programs he receives there.

Rudy was our piano tuner. Once a year he called and showed up with his friendly and outgoing personality. He always had time to talk and 1/2 hour tuning turned into 1 hour or more. We missed his annual call last year and are saddened to hear of his passing. We liked his gift of enthusiasm. Life of the party? We can totally imagine it. You had a great dad.
